Monos is a haunting and visually striking war drama directed by Alejandro Landes. Set in the remote mountains of Latin America, it follows a group of teenage guerrilla soldiers known as the Monos, who are tasked with guarding a captive American engineer and a cow named Shakira. As their isolated existence unravels, the line between discipline and chaos blurs, leading to a descent into anarchy and violence. The film's evocative cinematography and minimalist score by Mica Levi intensify its exploration of youth, power, and survival. Monos has been lauded for its immersive storytelling and was Colombia's official submission for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards.
