This fall, the Northern Michigan Chorale returns to our stage to entertain you with patriotic songs of gratitude, uplifting Broadway selections, and inspiring music from Burt Bacharach, Simon & Garfunkel, and Lerner & Lowe. The program includes smaller ensembles and soloists and exciting choral arrangements of many Holiday favorites, bringing wonderful music alive.
The Chorale was founded in 1982 with sixty voices under the direction of Don Large and is a non-auditioned, non-profit group. They continue to perform concerts throughout the year under the direction of Julie Pierpont, with accompaniment by Cynda Coleman.
The Crooked Tree Arts Center presented the Chorale their Eddi Award for “Arts and Cultural Organizations for the benefit of the citizens of Charlevoix and Emmet Counties.”
Each May, the Chorale gives Vocal Music Scholarships to area residents who want to improve their singing. They also pay the class tuition for NCMC students joining the group. Your donations to their Scholarship Fund are greatly appreciated.
