Join us on November 4 for an unforgettable evening of Masterworks from the Old World, featuring soprano Amy Cross and a symphonic journey through 200 years of music history!
Enjoy operatic and musical theatre classics from The Marriage of Figaro, La Bohème, Phantom of the Opera, and Les Misérables, with Amy Cross, fresh from her recent performance with the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra, shining as the evening's soloist.
The evening will also feature a Time Travel Symphony, which takes you through musical eras—from Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 of the Baroque Period to Samuel Barber's modern Symphony No. 1. This unique experience promises to engage your mind and touch your heart with timeless masterpieces from some of the greatest composers in history.
Amy Cross, Soprano
Amy Joy Cross studied classical voice at Boston University where she had the honor of singing under the leadership of the late Robert Shaw. After graduating, she moved to California where she performed with many bay area opera companies including Opera San Jose, West Bay Opera, and Lamplighters Music Theatre. She performed the title role of Laurie in The Tenderland, Casilda in The Gondoliers, and Lucy in The Telephone. She has performed various other roles such as Euridice in Orfeo and Euridice, Anne Trulove in Rake’s Progress and Geraldine in A Hand of Bridge. Amy continues to study voice with her mentor and friend, Evaldo dal Poggetto of Hillsborough, CA. Amy lives in Petoskey with her husband and three young children and looks forward to sharing her music throughout Northern Michigan.
