Why Rent?
- Begin without the upfront cost of buying.
- Easy size changes as your student grows.
- Affordable monthly rates with professional maintenance.
Choosing an Instrument & Size
Students may choose violin, viola, cello, or bass. Something to consider is that larger instruments (cello, bass) cost more and need more space for storage and transportation. Skip the guesswork! Your child's DGSP teacher will assess them to ensure the rental is the correct size in the first week of classes/lessons.
Instrument Care
- Store in the case when not in use.
- Keep away from extreme temperatures, humidity, and high-traffic areas.
- If damaged, contact your teacher or rental company—don’t attempt repairs.
Purchasing an Instrument
Before purchasing an instrument, it is recommended that you speak with the Program Director, Dr. Reimer, so that he can provide professional guidance and ensure quality. Already have an instrument? Schedule a time to bring it in and have it checked over.
Scholarship Program
Rental scholarships are available for families in need. To learn more or apply, e-mail David Reimer at dreimer@greatlakescfa.org.
