“Entering the mesmerizing musical universe of northern Michigan’s Jake Allen is like stepping into a lush, all-enveloping prog-pop garden – instrumentally complex yet breathtakingly fetching tracks that show off not only Allen’s jaw-dropping musicianship but whispery sweet and powerful vocals that recall the dynamics of Peter Gabriel.” – Local Spins

At a young age, Allen began exploring synthesizers and recording music in his father’s northern Michigan studio, and found himself being drawn to the sounds of finger-style guitar trailblazers like Michael Hedges and Andy McKee. After pinpointing his focus on acoustic guitar, crafting his percussive tapping style, and creating his own virtual clone-like backing band, Allen took his solo show to the road in 2009 and has been touring ever since. With his unique percussive style, two hands on the neck technique and live looping, Jake Allen has transformed his acoustic guitar into a versatile instrument and has gained international acclaim as an artist with the sound and energy of a full band.

Allen’s powerful vocals, engaging lyrics, and capacity to connect with his audiences have earned the alternative artist recognition as a celebrated international touring sensation. Allen has produced several acclaimed solo records, playing every instrument himself to complement his smooth, soaring voice. As Jake Allen continues to write, produce, and perform, his mission statement remains the same: "I observe, report and affirm my life through the act of making music. In turn, I wish that act will enrich the lives of others and inspire them to be their own definition of great."
