Angela Morris, Development Associate, is the newest team member at the Center. Angela is originally from the Grand Rapids area and moved to Petoskey with her husband, Jeff, a teacher at Boyne City Middle School, and 18-month-old daughter, Hazel, in April of 2017. They have always loved visiting Northern Michigan and decided to make it their new home. Angela achieved her undergraduate degree in Public Relations and Advertising from Grand Valley State University and her master’s degree in Business Administration from Ferris State University. She has already become an asset to the Center, assisting with the administrative and operations side of the Development Office.
Before starting at the Center, Angela worked in a variety of industries specializing in marketing, communications and project management. Prior to moving up north, she was the Marketing Manager for the Extended and International Operations Division at Ferris State University where she earned the Distinguished Staff Award in 2015. She loves being involved in the community and participating in charity events. One highlight was volunteering on the fundraising committee for the Humane Society of West Michigan’s annual gala for three years.
Angela has always appreciated the arts and has vivid memories of traveling to Chicago as a child to see the Nutcracker and Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. She even has musical talents herself! She studied piano throughout middle and high school and played the saxophone in 6th grade. She is eager for the opening of the Center, “especially with having a young daughter and knowing how fortunate she is to grow up experiencing cultural performances and educational programs right in her backyard.”
When Angela isn’t training for a half marathon, chasing after Hazel (or maybe those are the same thing), biking, kayaking, or hiking outdoors, she can be found making new recipes in the kitchen, working on their new house, or spending time with family and friends.
