The Great Lakes Center for the Arts is delighted to welcome the newest member to its growing team, Ms. Alexandra Myers, Marketing Manager. Alex was born and raised in Petoskey, and after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design, Photography, and Theater at Adrian College, she returned to Northern Michigan to begin a career in the arts.
Ms. Myers most recently worked as a graphic designer, wedding photographer & entrepreneur, and she is excited to jump into the marketing side of GLCFA. When she isn’t posting on social media, snapping pictures, or designing publications, Alex has been found managing Know Way Out, Petoskey’s escape room.
Like the other staff at the Center, Ms. Myers has a passion for and background in the arts. She grew up participating in dance classes, vocal lessons, art classes and on stage in theatrical performances. She was a member of the Petoskey High School Madrigal Singers and had the lead in numerous school and community productions. She studied at The Second City in Chicago. A few years ago she produced, directed, helped write and performed in a comedy show called, “Insert Title Here.” Alex continues to grace the stage with the Little Traverse Civic Theater in her spare time, most recently as Karen in the upcoming production of “August: Osage County.” Alex believes in the power of glitter, Thai food and sending snail mail, stamps and all.
“We are delighted to have Alex on board as our Marketing Manager. She brings a wealth of experience, creativity, and enthusiasm to the team,” noted Jill O’Neill, Executive Director. Alex particularly enjoys the creativity that comes with a role in marketing and is thrilled to collaborate with the other areas within the organization and out in the community.
