Win two tickets to the 2020 Summer Season and expand the reach of the arts in Northern Michigan!
Contribute to the Annual Fund between November 15, 2019, and December 31, 2019, and be entered into a drawing to win two tickets to all GLCFA-presented events in the 2020 Summer Season! You will also receive all Annual Fund benefits for your selected gift level. If you have already donated in 2019, you may donate again to enter. Suggested donation is $100 or more, but no donation is required to enter. Please see below for details.
How to Donate:
Approximate Retail Value: $2,500. Winner will be announced on January 18, 2020, at “Broadway’s Next Hit Musical.” Participants need not be present to win; a gift certificate will be mailed the week of January 20, 2020. The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. No purchase, donation, or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A donation does not improve your chance of winning.
To enter without donating, send a letter to the address below or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org stating your name, contact information, and intent. Must be 18 to enter (unless your state of residency requires otherwise). All international, federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations are in force.
Directors, officers, and employees of the GLCFA and their immediate families are not eligible to participate. Void where prohibited by law.
Frequently Asked Questions
If I have already donated in 2019, am I automatically entered into the giveaway?
New cash or pledges from November 15, 2019, to December 31, 2019 qualify. If you’ve already made a gift, an additional donation within the specified dates is required in order to be entered. Pledges made earlier but paid before the contest deadline qualify for entry.
What if I want to donate more than $100? Will I receive more entries?
One entry per donation. Donors may choose to contribute more than $100, and if so, they will receive the full benefits of their selected giving level. Scroll to the bottom of the page for a complete list of benefits.
Do I need to donate to win?
No purchase, donation, or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A donation does not improve the chance of winning. To enter without donating, entrants must send a letter to Great Lakes Center for the Arts, 800 Bay Harbor Drive, Bay Harbor, MI 49770 or e-mail email@example.com stating their name, contact information, and intent.
Are tickets transferrable? What if I win, and want to give the tickets to someone else?
The tickets may be shared with friends and family. They cannot be exchanged for events within a different season or redeemed for donation credit, and are not refundable. The Center asks that the winner turns the tickets back into the Box Office if they will not be used.
How do I know what events are being offered?
The 2020 Summer Season schedule will be announced on March 1!
What are GLCFA-presented events?
These are events in the schedule that GLCFA produces and manages. The 2020 Summer Season will be announced March 1, at which time we will provide you with a list of events that are presented by GLCFA. Tickets to the 2020 GALA are not included.
What if there is a sold out show? Do I need to confirm if I am not attending the performance?
For all performances, the winner will need to confirm attendance with the Box Office at least 30 days prior to the event, or earlier if an event is sold out. If the winner does not confirm attendance, seats will be released to those who are on the wait list. The Box Office will make every effort to reach the winner before releasing tickets.
Do we get to choose our seats?
The winner’s seats will be chosen by the Box Office. The Center will assign seats that allow for the best experience at each event.
If I win, do I need to pay taxes on this prize?
Because the total estimated value of the prize is over $2,500, the Center will issue a 1099 form to the winner, who may need to claim it on their taxes. The winner should consult their tax advisor for more information on how to claim their prize.
