Beth Anne Eckerle

Marketing Director

Beth Anne Eckerle joined the Great Lakes Center for the Arts in February 2017 as Marketing Director, bringing her skills in graphic design, writing, photography, social media and web site management to the team. Ms. Eckerle will help shape the Center’s branding and messaging, and build regional excitement for its programs and amenities.

A Grand Haven, MI, native, Ms. Eckerle is a 1995 University of Michigan graduate with a degree in Communications and a minor in German. She is a former newspaper journalist and editor who has worked for the Ann Arbor News, Detroit Legal News, Jackson Citizen Patriot and the Petoskey News-Review. Ms. Eckerle earned numerous writing awards during her journalism career for investigative, news, feature and column writing.

Prior to joining the Center team, Ms. Eckerle was the Director of Communications and Web Development for Emmet County, a position which contributed greatly to the rise in recognition of Emmet County’s parks, many natural amenities, and its charming communities. She was part of the team that helped to earn International Dark Sky Park recognition for the Headlands in northern Emmet County, and also handled the editing, design and some writing for the popular four-part historical magazine series, the Essence of Emmet.

Ms. Eckerle is the mother of twin sons, Drew and Evan, who attend Petoskey Public Schools. Along with her husband, Brian, the family enjoys skiing, outdoor recreation, playing soccer and attending the kids’ athletic and academic activities.
